HAPPY NEW YEAR! Welcome 2012!! There is no better way to wake up on January 1 than to know that fellow kidlit bookworms are checking out all of the CYBILS short lists. Really. Is there ANYTHING more exciting than the prospect of new books to read? Call me Delinquent, Odd Duck, and Judge

With deep apologies to our ROCKING Category Organizer, Fiona Bayrock, I am way behind in sharing some news with the world. I am among an amazing team of panelists and judges for the Nonfiction Picture Book category for this year’s Children’s and Young Adult Bloggers Literary Awards (aka Cybils). My first “introduction” to Fiona was during our first Share a Story – Shape a Future literacy blog tour in 2008. The Cybils are Coming! The Cybils are Coming!

As I mentioned a few weeks ago, I am taking a new role in the 2011 Children’s and Young Adult Bloggers Literary Awards.  Not only am I moving from Round 1 Panelist to Category Organizer for the Easy Reader and Early Chapter Book Categories, but I’m also on another panel as a judge. I’ve only ever done “EZ / Early,” so this is a chance to stretch my wings! Being a Category Organizer is super exciting; unbelievably daunting – Anastasia created and nurtured the category for three years;  and humbling.
