Four years? Can it really be? Wow! What started as a random idea in 2009 as an “excuse” to bring together librarians, teachers, parents, authors, and passionistas to chat about literacy and books has become an annual literacy blog tour. As you know from the end-of-the-month literacy roundups at Rasco from RIF, Jen Robinson’s Book Page, and our own Family Bookshelf, March pretty much boils down to two “Bs”: books and basketball. As the song says … “Start spreading the news” Yep! Planning is underway for our 2012 blog tour for literacy. Mark your calendars for the week of March 5, 2012, as we’ll be spending five glorious days exploring literacy, reading, and raising readers. As we announced on the Share a Story blog last week, the theme for this year’s blog tour is The Culture of Literacy To say we are all very excited about the possibilities the theme offers would be a H-U-G-E understatement.
