Poetry Friday – Ouch! An Original Poem

My first Poetry Friday! Literacy note: Poetry is a great way to engage kids in reading. Like full-length stories, poems for children often have that sing-song cadence that helps them practice words and sounds, stretch their imagination, and helps them see that language (and ultimately reading) isn’t stuffy.
